Why Did My Score Change?

Your posture score shows how well your Microsoft 365 tenant meets Griffin31’s recommendations. It can change for two reasons: your tenant changed, or the bar moved.

Settings change all the time: a new policy, a removed exclusion, a new admin. When a recommendation gets better or worse, your score follows. You’ll see each change in Recent Activity, and the Recommendation Regressions policy can email you about it.

Microsoft and the security community keep raising the standard. Griffin31 keeps up:

  • Updated checks that follow the latest Microsoft and CIS guidance
  • New recommendations that cover newer risks
  • Stricter requirements where the old ones no longer protect enough

When this happens, your score can change even if nothing in your tenant changed. It reflects a higher standard, not a weaker tenant. Griffin31 is now showing you gaps that weren’t measured before.

  1. Open Recommendations and use the Quick wins filter: high impact, low effort.
  2. Check Fix These First on the dashboard: the fixes that close gaps in several threats.
  3. Use the Evidence tab to see exactly what to change.
  4. If a recommendation doesn’t apply to you, Exempt it with a reason.
